hello all.
i have a bit of dilemma. i am planning on going to hawaii in august and am trying to figure out the cheapest flight. the thing is that i have to use united because i have a united voucher. i'm going to the big island but all the flights to kona and hilo on united seem to be particularly expensive! i can go to honolulu for like 650 bucks it seems but going to kona or hilo is like 800! aren't there interisland flights for like 50 bucks? are there other airports that i could fly into from sf that might be even cheaper than honolulu?
very excited!

Re: cheapest sfo to hawaii airport?
Wed, April 11, 2007 - 3:58 PMhonolulu and maui are usually the cheapest hawaii airports to fly into, although recently ATA (www.ata.com) has been offering direct flights from oakland to hilo (airport code: ITO). in fact, i just saw an ata oakland -hilo flight special for $129 each way - amazingly cheap! someimtes aloha airlines and hawaiian airlines offer low interisland fares for about as little as $39 oneway, but they are rare and occasional at best. in my experience, united tends to be a lot more expensive than many other airlines, so i say screw the voucher (unless it's realy a lot) and just check out other fares on other airlines. good luck! ~jaRed. :) -
